Short answer: yes, almost all of them. Nine of the ten Reef fragrances currently in stock at Arabic Aura are sold as unisex. The only dedicated women’s release is Lady Reef. But “unisex” on a product page is a marketing label, not a guarantee that a scent sits neatly in the middle, so this guide goes note by note.
Every in-stock Reef fragrance at a glance
The table below uses the notes and gender labels from each product page. The final column is our own editorial read of where each scent sits on a masculine-to-feminine spectrum, based on the notes and on long-standing perfumery conventions. It is an opinion, not a rule, and your skin will have the final say.

This covers the Reef fragrances in stock at the time of writing (September 2026). Other numbers in the range come and go, so check the shop for what is available today. You may also see some of these listed under a men’s or women’s shelf in the shop menus. Treat those as browsing shortcuts: the product pages describe the fragrances themselves.
What “unisex” actually means in perfume
Fragrance has no chemical gender. A molecule does not know who is wearing it. The split into “for him” and “for her” is largely a marketing convention, built on habits that grew up over the last century: florals, fruits and sweet gourmands were pitched to women, while citrus, aromatic herbs, leather, woods and spice were pitched to men.
Arabian perfumery never followed that split very closely. Oud, amber, saffron and musk are worn by everyone in the Gulf, which is why so many Reef and Lattafa fragrances are simply sold as unisex. When a label says unisex, it usually means the composition does not depend on a strongly gendered note.
How to read a Reef note list for gender cues
- Jasmine, lily of the valley, iris, orange blossom: traditionally read as feminine. Reef 11 (jasmine) and Reef 19 (lily of the valley and jasmine) both contain them, though each is balanced by pepper or musk.
- Leather, oud, cedarwood, patchouli: traditionally read as masculine, though in the Gulf oud is worn by everyone. Reef Obaiah, Reef 33 and Reef 21 carry these.
- Amber, vanilla, saffron, musk: the true middle ground. Reef 31 is built almost entirely from these, which is why we think it is the most neutral of the warm options.
- Citrus, lavender, tonka: fresh and aromatic, the classic barbershop territory, but tonka’s sweetness softens it. That is Reef Pure Fruity.
Which Reef is the most neutral?
If you are buying as a gift and want the safest possible choice, the two we would point to are Reef 19 for a clean, quiet, everyday scent and Reef 31 for something warmer. Neither leans hard in either direction, and both are wearable across most of the year.
If you would like a bolder pick, Reef 33 is the range’s signature saffron-oud and is sold as unisex. Our Reef 11 vs Reef 33 comparison explains how the softer and bolder ends of the range differ.
Frequently asked questions
Is Reef 19 for men or women?
Both. It is sold as unisex, and its lily of the valley, jasmine and white musk composition is clean and quiet rather than distinctly masculine or feminine. Our Reef 19 review goes deeper.
Is Reef 11 unisex?
Yes, it is sold as unisex. Because of the jasmine heart, many people find it reads slightly feminine, but the pink pepper opening and sandalwood base keep it from tipping into a pure floral.
Is Reef 31 unisex?
Yes. Saffron, amber and vanilla are gender-neutral notes, and the fragrance is described as a balanced, all-season unisex scent. See the Reef 31 review.
Is Reef 33 for men or women?
It is sold as unisex. Saffron, rosemary and oud make it bold and warm, so it suits anyone who wants a statement scent rather than something subtle. More in our Reef 33 review.
Can men wear Lady Reef?
Lady Reef is designed and sold as a women’s fragrance, with a fruity-floral character and a musk base. There is no rule against anyone wearing it, but if you want something in the same clean territory that is sold as unisex, Reef 19 and Reef Pure Fruity are the closer matches.
Can women wear the Men’s-shelf Reef fragrances?
Yes. The product pages describe them as unisex, so pick by notes and mood, not by shelf.
The best way to choose
Ignore the label and ask three questions. Do you want clean, warm or bold? Fresh or deep? Everyday or evening? Then use the note list to shortlist two fragrances. If you want a guided shortlist, try our Perfume Finder, browse the best unisex perfumes in the UK, or read the full Reef Perfume Guide. If you are choosing for someone else, Best Reef Perfume for Women and Best Reef Perfume for Men cover the same range from each angle.
