Best Boozy Perfumes UK 2026: Rum, Bourbon & Tobacco-Vanilla Picks

Lattafa Raghba eau de parfum 100ml bottle

If you want a perfume that smells like rum-soaked vanilla, smoky tobacco or a glass of bourbon by the fire, this guide sorts the seven strongest options in the Arabic Aura catalogue by style and budget. The short version: Lattafa Raghba (£18.00) and Lattafa Mashrabya (£19.99) are the most direct rum-and-tobacco picks, Lattafa Asad Bourbon (£24.00) is the easiest to wear, and Teriaq Intense (£39.99) is the richest.

Prices, notes and stock on this page were checked on the Arabic Aura shop on 17 October 2026 and can change, so confirm them on each product page. We list the notes shown on our own product pages. We have not run laboratory tests.

What does “boozy” actually mean in perfume?

Boozy is a style label, not an ingredient. When a perfume is described as boozy, it usually carries a rum, whisky, bourbon or cognac effect, which perfumers build from warm spices, vanilla, tonka bean, tobacco, dried fruit and woods rather than from anything you could drink. The result smells sweet, a little smoky and slightly syrupy, like a spiced dessert with a splash of spirit in it. That is why the same few notes keep turning up in this guide: rum or plum on top, cinnamon or tobacco in the middle, vanilla and amber underneath.

In our catalogue the word appears in the product descriptions of a small group of Lattafa fragrances, and those are the ones included below. We have left out anything that is merely sweet.

Why boozy fragrances are having a moment this autumn

The Good Web Guide’s round-up of new autumn 2026 fragrances names three trends: spiced gourmands, boozy syrupy fruits and resinous fiery ambers. Boozy scents also sit inside the wider growth of gourmand, vanilla and Arabian-inspired perfume that Spate’s 2026 fragrance report describes. We do not have Search Console data connected for this site, so we cannot quote search volumes and we have not invented any. Treat the trend as an editorial signal, and the buying advice below as the part that matters.

For the wider picture, see our UK fragrance trends 2026 guide.

Rum and tobacco: Raghba, Mashrabya and Velvet Oud

Lattafa Raghba (£18.00)

Raghba is the cheapest way into this whole category. The listed notes run from rum and saffron on top, through incense and spice in the heart, to tobacco, vanilla and oud in the base. Our product page describes it as sitting in the same family as Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille, a comparison the fragrance community makes often. We are not smelling the two side by side on this page, so treat that as a style guide rather than a promise. The product page estimates seven to eight hours of wear. Raghba also features in our guide to Lattafa’s designer-inspired fragrances.

Lattafa Mashrabya (£19.99)

Mashrabya opens with rum and spice, moves into a smoky tobacco heart and finishes on a sweet vanilla-amber base. The product page says it is built in the spirit of Kilian’s Smoking Hot and describes it as unisex. Compared with Raghba, the centre reads sweeter and more dessert-like, while Raghba leans on incense and oud in its heart and base. Our Mashrabya review goes into more detail on how it wears.

Lattafa Velvet Oud (£20.00)

Velvet Oud is the odd one out. It also opens with rum and saffron, but the centre of gravity is suede and leather, with amber, tobacco and oud underneath. If you like the idea of a boozy scent but find tobacco-vanilla too sweet, this is the one to try. Our Velvet Oud review and the leather perfume trend guide cover the leather side.

Bourbon and cocoa: Asad Bourbon and Asad Elixir

Lattafa Asad Bourbon (£24.00)

Asad Bourbon is the most approachable pick in this guide. The listed notes are pink pepper, mirabelle plum and lavender on top, cinnamon and spice in the heart, and vanilla, cocoa and amberwood in the base. The product page places it in a similar family to Azzaro’s The Most Wanted and estimates six to eight hours of wear. If you already know the original Asad, our Asad vs Asad Bourbon comparison explains what changes, and the Asad Bourbon review covers the wear.

Lattafa Asad Elixir (£22.00)

Asad Elixir is the darkest member of the Asad family. It opens with bergamot and pepper, builds a heart of tobacco leaf and cinnamon, and settles on leather, vanilla and amber. Think less sweet cocoa, more spiced leather. Our Asad collection guide lays out the whole line so you can see where Elixir sits.

Plum, rum accord and syrupy fruit: Teriaq Intense and Pure Crystal

Teriaq Intense (£39.99)

Teriaq Intense is the richest and most expensive fragrance here. It opens with plum and a rum accord, the heart is cinnamon and tobacco, and the base is vanilla, amber and musk. Our product page estimates eight hours or more, and describes it as built for bold winter evenings. Read the Teriaq Intense review before you decide whether it justifies the price over Raghba or Mashrabya.

Lattafa Pride Pure Crystal (£34.99)

Pure Crystal takes boozy in a fruitier direction. It opens with boozy fruit and berries, the heart is a sweet, syrupy gourmand, and the base is warm vanilla-musk. The product page says it is built in the spirit of BORNTOSTANDOUT’s Drunk Lovers and describes it as unisex. It is the least smoky pick here, so it suits people who want the sweetness of boozy scents without tobacco. It is also covered in our Lattafa Pride collection guide.

How to choose the right boozy perfume

  • If you want smoke and tobacco, start with Mashrabya or Raghba.
  • If you want sweet and easy, start with Asad Bourbon or Pure Crystal.
  • If you want leather in the mix, choose Velvet Oud or Asad Elixir.
  • If you want the richest, most winter-ready option, choose Teriaq Intense.
  • If budget matters most, Raghba (£18.00), Mashrabya (£19.99) and Velvet Oud (£20.00) are the three lowest prices in this guide.

How to wear boozy perfumes well

These are dense, sweet and smoky scents, and heavier profiles generally carry further, so go lightly at first. Our guide on how many sprays of perfume to use is a good starting point, and is Arabic perfume too strong? covers what to do if you overdo it. Cooler air tends to suit warm, spiced scents, and our UK weather and longevity guide explains how temperature changes the way they wear. For the workplace, see Arabic perfumes for the office.

Give each one time on skin before judging it. The opening of a boozy scent is often sharper than the finish, as explained in our guide to dry-down.

Boozy, gourmand, tobacco or leather: what is the difference?

These families overlap. Gourmand scents smell edible, and many boozy fragrances are gourmands with a spirit accent. Our guide to milk and caramel gourmands covers the sweeter end. Tobacco notes are a separate thread, explained in our tobacco notes guide, and spicy Arabic perfumes covers the cinnamon-and-pepper side.

A note on Lattafa Khamrah, which people often group with these. Its listed notes are cinnamon, saffron and walnut on top, dates and tonka bean in the heart, and vanilla, tobacco and sandalwood in the base. It shares the warm tobacco-vanilla base, but the product page does not list a rum or spirit note, so we class it as a spiced gourmand. Our Khamrah review has the detail.

If the smoky side of this list appeals more than the sweet side, read our incense perfume guide. If fruit is what draws you in, try our cherry and dark fruit perfume guide.

Mistakes to avoid when buying a boozy perfume

  • Judging it from the first few minutes. These scents change a lot as they dry.
  • Buying the most expensive option by default. Raghba and Mashrabya cost less than half of Teriaq Intense.
  • Layering two heavy scents without testing. Our layering guide explains how to do it properly.
  • Storing the bottle somewhere warm. See how to store perfume.

Frequently asked questions

Do boozy perfumes contain real rum or whisky?

No. The boozy effect is built from fragrance notes such as spice, vanilla, tobacco, plum and wood. Eau de parfum does contain perfumer’s alcohol as a carrier, but that is separate from the rum or bourbon character.

Which boozy perfume is the cheapest here?

Lattafa Raghba at £18.00 was the lowest-priced pick when this page was checked on 17 October 2026.

Is Lattafa Khamrah a boozy perfume?

Its listed notes include cinnamon, dates, tonka bean, vanilla and tobacco, but no rum or spirit note appears on our product page, so we class it as a spiced gourmand rather than a boozy scent.

Are boozy perfumes unisex?

Mashrabya and Pure Crystal are described as unisex on their product pages. Check each product page for the others, and choose by the scent profile rather than the label.

Which boozy perfume is best for winter?

Teriaq Intense is described on its product page as built for bold winter evenings, and Asad Bourbon is described as suited to autumn and winter.
